Collaborating with other podcasters can be one way to get your podcast into other people's ears!
It allows you to cross-promote your shows and attract new listeners. Here are some of the best ways to collaborate with other podcasters:
Guest appearances: Invite other podcasters to be guests on your show, and offer to be a guest on theirs in return. This is a great way to introduce your content to new audiences and establish yourself as an industry expert.
Joint episodes: Collaborate with other podcasters to create joint episodes. This can be a fun and engaging way to explore new topics and reach a wider audience.
Podcast networks: Join a podcast network or create one with other like-minded podcasters. This can provide you with access to resources, cross-promotion opportunities, and a sense of community.
Live events: Host or participate in live events with other podcasters. This can be a great way to connect with your listeners in person, as well as network with other podcasters.
Social media collaborations: Collaborate with other podcasters on social media by promoting each other's content, doing guest takeovers on each other's accounts, or hosting joint giveaways.
Sponsorship: Swap sponsorships with another podcast for a month or two. Studies show that there is a really good conversion of listeners to buyers for sponsors compared to many other mediums.
By collaborating with other podcasters, you can not only attract new listeners but also build valuable relationships within the podcasting community.
STEP by STEP to how to pitch yourself as a guest on someone else's podcast.
1. Think about shows you'd like to be on. Perhaps ones that aren't exactly similar to yours but that are complimentary in subject that. Start commenting on their social media posts in a natural, not-so-stalking way. HA!
2. Create a media one sheet: Think of 3-5 subjects you could speak to. Give stats on your show. Tell the podcast host a bit about yourself. Grab my FREE guest template here.
3. Begin a conversation via email by listing a couple things that you like about their show. This shows you are a listener!
4. Send that media one sheet to them and speak about how you can add benefit to their listeners.
5. After you have guested, send them a thank you email!
As always, you might not have time to do all these things. This is something I, as a podcast manager, do for clients who want to up their game to collaborate with other podcasts and gain new listeners to their podcast. Reach out to me if you're curious about my prices for some of these things. They may be more affordable than you think!
